Are You Doing What God Has Commanded?

Justin Baker • April 28, 2025

We find a great example of a man in Genesis 6 who is doing what God has commanded him. The question today is, are you doing what has been commanded of you?

Genesis 6 is a very great passage full of great truths, but I would like to focus on the very last verse of the chapter.

Notice verse 22.

Genesis 6:22 KJV
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

I know this may sound very simple, but in today's day, we have veered away from doing what we have been commanded of us.

Many of you probably grew up in a home or are raising a home that when you instruct someone to do something that you don't lollygag around and say I will wait and do it later. No! You did it right when you were told.

Today's generation is so spoiled, and they think they are entitled to do whatever they want whenever they want to do it.

Yes, they may get the certain thing done, but on their time watch. This is not something that needs to be in consideration with the Lord.

Whatever God commanded Noah, Noah did it. I know there are those who are out there that say we don't need to do anything because the Lord does it all. Sure, the Lord could have made the ark appear and told Noah to get inside the ark, and he would shut the door, but that is not how God ordered it.

"Man, following the will of God will complete all that God commands him."

We have been given the great commission to tell others about the Lord, yet so many never take time to give out gospel tracts.

One thing I have learned is killing our churches today is the calvanistic doctrine that we don't need to witness to the lost because if they are going to be saved, then they will be saved, but if they are going to be lost, then they are going to be lost.

Sadly, there are many who believe that. Therefore, the great commission is not being practiced.

When Covid started in 2019, we found a lot of people not willing to come to church. (Please don't miss understand the point I am trying to make. Those who have health problems it was understandable.) Therefore, not following the command of Christ in Hebrews 10:25.

Friend, I need the church, and you need the church. I need the Bible. You need the Bible. I need prayer in my life. You need prayer in your life.

How much are we following the commands? It was said of Noah ...according to all that God commanded him, so did he. Genesis 6:22

Are you doing what God has commanded you to do? If not, why don't you consider doing what he commands?

Thank you for reading today's devotional. If it was an encouragement to you, please share it with others. Also, please send your prayer request to Justin@rtfministries.net to be shared on Wednesday.
