God, The Father, Already Knows He Just Wants To Hear It From Us!

Justin Baker • March 31, 2025

The Father knows everything he just wants us to recognize what we have done.

I hope you enjoyed reading chapter three of Genesis yesterday. It is such a joy and a pleasure to be able to read God's word each day.

Genesis 3, as I hope you have already read, deals with the fall of man. This is not where sin started! Sin started in Heaven when Satan tried to be above God, but that didn't work as we know. Now, he is waiting for his judgment as he is cast into the lake of fire forever

God had told Adam in chapter 2 that he could eat of the fruit of the garden but of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil he could not eat (2:16-17)

In chapter 3, Satan deceives Eve into thinking that this is a good thing to partake of. May I remind you not to look at the beginning of sin but always look at the ending.

The beer commercials look like a very great thing to get involved in, but sadly, the end results are divorce, children being abused, domestic violence takes place, and possibly the killing of a family because someone chose to drink and drive.

Smoking is the same way. They show how smoking is good for you. That's what they say, but they never show you the end results of lung cancer of other affects that smoking has.

When Adam and Eve took of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, their eyes were open, and they realized that for the first time in their life, they had sinned against God.

God started with Adam and asked him where he was (Verse 9). Do you think God knew where Adam was? Of course he did. He wanted Adam to state where he was.

He asked in verse 11 Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Do you think God knew if Adam had eaten of the fruit? Absolutely, then the question arises why did he ask the question to Adam if he already knew?

The answer to the question is he wanted Adam to admit his failure. See, God already knows when we sin against him, but he wants us to confess that sin.

What good would it be if your children never recognized when they have done wrong? What good would it be if they continued to do wrong and never take responsibility for their actions?

If a child were to break a glass, you would hope they would admit to it. Why? Because you know they have done it, but you want to hear it from them. Same thing with our Lord and Savior.

He says in 1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Maybe today it's time for you to own up to your sin before God. Maybe it's time for you to get right with God. He hasn't sinned, nor will he ever sin.

I will mention this once again on Wednesday with our prayer request, but please pray for Anthony McMillan. He was in a car accident recently and is in the hospital. Due to the accident, he is now paralyzed.

Thank you for reading this fire-starter devotional today. If I was a blessing and a help to you, please pass it along to someone else. If you have a prayer request that you would like us to mention on Wednesday in the email, please email me at
Justin@rtfministries.net by tomorrow evening for it to be in the email.
