The Big Cover-ups!
Wicked Haman has planned to kill the Jews and it has come to the ears of Esther. Esther was a Jew and she would be in trouble just like the rest of the Jews would be. Mordecai comes to her and states this to her and now she is doing something about it.
Our Fire-starter comes from Esther 7. Our Fire-starter thought is the big cover-up.
We learn about cover-ups all the time. Some sweep things under the rug and others bring things out in the open. Numbers 32:23 states be sure your sin will find you out
Oftentimes friends will try to cover for friends Oftentimes we see this in the religious realm, if you will. The problem with cover-ups is things are never brought to the surface and the person that has been accused of things never seems to get in trouble. Their day is coming!!!
It has been told by Mordecai what Haman's plot is and how he wants to kill the Jews, which includes Esther the queen.
The Queen gets Haman and the King together for a banquet the second time. The first banquet is mentioned in chapter five and I am not sure why she didn't tell the King at that point what Haman was planning and plotting but i can tell you that at this second banquet is where the truth is brought out about Haman and his plans.
We know from our text that when the King found out about what was going on and what was fixing to transpire and take place, he was angry and left the room. Haman, if you can imagine, is now wanting out of what he has done.
Something that I can imagine is Haman wanting a cover-up from the queen, so he won't get in trouble.
That's how so many live their life, no regard for right or wrong just want to keep out of trouble. When things are swept under the rug people are hurt by it and therefore justice needs to be brought to attention.
Just Because 1 John 1:9 is in the Bible doesn't make the qualifications change. Sin is still sin and sin still has consequences.
I do not think for one minute that Haman came up to Esther with true repentance for even plotting to do wrong. You say brother Justin what does this have to do with me? A lot of times we are like Haman and we are like Saul when we need to be like David.
Saul when he sinned blamed it on those around him to make a covering for him thinking he would not get in trouble. Haman on the other hand tried his very best to get Queen Esther to cover up what he was trying to do. David in 2 Samuel 11 was confronted by Nathan and in true repentance God gave mercy to him and cleansed him. Which of the three will you be today?
When a person falls we must pick them back up but they cannot be in the same position they were in nor, in some cases, be able to make it back to that position. Sin has consequences Sometimes you have to pay for someone else's sin because you are a part of them but regardless you have to pay.
It never turns out good when you play cover-up.
So many will back their friends up when it comes to sin. So many do not have the backbone to say, you have sinned and now you have to face the consequence.
God help us to never play cover-up but always confess.
Hope you have a great Day!!!
Esther 7:1-10 KJV
So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen. [2] And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom. [3] Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: [4] For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage. [5] Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? [6] And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. [7] And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. [8] Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. [9] And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon. [10] So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
